The origin of Lemon (Citrus x Limon) is India, China and the Pacific tropical islands. Lemon is a small evergreen fruit tree up to 5-8 m high, having a spreading or pyramidal crown. The age of the plant can reach 45 years. The bark is grayish, slightly fractured on perennial branches and green or reddish-violet, smooth on annual shoots, often with spines, occasionally without them. The leaves are green, glossy on top and light green and matte on the bottom. The flowers are axillary, single or paired, small (2-3 cm) with an obscure-toothed cup and a five-membered nimbus. The color of the petals is pure white or slightly creamy, pinkish or purple on the outside. Lemon fruit is 6–9 cm long, 4–6 cm in diameter, ovoid or oval hesperidium. The pulp of the lemon fruit consists of saccular hairs of greenish-yellow color. Lemon blooms in spring. The fruits ripen in the fall.
